Updated November 3rd  2025 Summary: Tariffs on goods from China to the USA have been reduced to 20%. Ask your Project Manager for our guide to increase the value of your product without increasing the cost so you can cover these tariffs and make more of a profit to continue doing your good work.

The U.S. government has implemented—or is in the process of implementing—tariffs on a wide range of imported goods from China, including stuffed toys. These tariffs range from 10% to as much as 245%, depending on the category and timing.  We will be keeping a close eye on this and updating our valued clients.

Important Update on U.S. Tariff Uncertainty

These policies are subject to change with little notice from the US government, and we want to emphasize that we have no control over future government decisions.

We want to be fully transparent with you regarding current U.S. import conditions. Due to recent announcements, the U.S. government is implementing significant tariff increases on certain goods imported from China, with potential rates ranging anywhere from 10% to 245%. Unfortunately, the specific rate that may apply to your shipment will only be confirmed when your goods arrive at the U.S. border.

Please know that the price for your custom plush toy/book is not changing. We are not increasing our company’s costs or fees to you in light of this situation.

However, if U.S. Customs applies a tariff to your shipment, those fees will be collected by the government. We act as the intermediary by collecting the tariff amount on behalf of our U.S. Customs broker, but we do not retain any portion of these funds—100% goes directly to the U.S. government.

All information we provide to you about tariffs is based on the most current news and trade publications available at the time. These policies are subject to change with little notice, and we want to emphasize that we have no control over future government decisions.

We are closely monitoring all updates and will continue to keep your best interests in mind. If you have questions about how this may affect your shipment, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

I have always made it a top priority to offer exceptional quality plush toys at fair and competitive pricing. I know that for many of my clients—whether you’re ordering toys for your children’s book, corporate gifting, event giveaways, or promotional campaigns—budget matters. And so does quality. Striking the right balance between the two has always been one of my greatest strengths.

Why I Manufacture in China
Over the years, I’ve continually explored alternative manufacturing options in other countries. My goal has always been to offer competitive pricing without compromising on quality, timeline, or customization capabilities. However, the reality of plush toy production is that China remains unmatched in four key areas:

  1. Raw Materials & Components – Most of the fabrics, stuffing, embroidery threads, and safety accessories used in plush manufacturing are either produced in China or sourced through its supply chain. Even factories in other countries often rely on Chinese suppliers for these essentials.
  2. Skilled Labor Force – Plush toy manufacturing is surprisingly complex. Creating a consistent, safe, and adorable product requires a high degree of technical skill. From sewing and embroidery to stuffing and assembly, the hands-on labor involved is not easily replicated in countries with less experience in the toy sector.
  3. Infrastructure & Technology – China has spent decades building a highly specialized infrastructure for plush toy manufacturing. This includes not just factories, but logistics systems, quality assurance labs, and safety testing facilities that meet global standards.
  4. Scalability & Customization – When it comes to turning creative ideas into tangible, brand-ready plush toys, Chinese manufacturers offer a combination of speed, flexibility, and customization options that we have not found elsewhere.

What’s Changing: U.S. Tariffs on Stuffed Toys
As of this year, the U.S. government has implemented—or is in the process of implementing—tariffs on a wide range of imported goods from China, including stuffed toys. These tariffs range from 10% to as much as 100%, depending on the category and timing.

To put this into perspective: a plush toy that costs $10 to produce could now incur an additional $10 in tariffs, effectively doubling the cost of your toy. Unfortunately, this is not a temporary surcharge or a negotiable fee—it is a government-mandated import tax that applies to all stuffed toys coming into the U.S. from China.

Why This Matters to You
We understand that pricing is a key consideration in your planning process. Whether you’re ordering toys for a trade show, product launch, customer loyalty campaign, or internal milestone celebration, you need to know your costs upfront and be confident in the value you’re receiving.

While we’ve absorbed cost increases in the past—through better shipping logistics, smarter material sourcing, or margin adjustments—the sheer scale of these new tariffs makes it impossible for us to continue doing so across the board. The increases are simply too large, and they apply to every unit imported into the country.

This means we must, reluctantly, pass these costs on to our customers until such time as the tariffs are reversed or revised. We truly wish there were another option—but we also believe that being transparent with you now is far more respectful than quietly raising prices without explanation.

What’s Not Changing: Our Commitment to You
While the cost landscape has shifted, some things remain constant:

Exceptional Product Quality – Our plush toys continue to be made with the highest attention to detail, safety, and softness. These are not mass-market toys—they are custom-crafted pieces of your brand.

Deep Customization – From logo embroidery to fully custom character design, we offer plush toys that are unique, memorable, and on-brand.

Reliable Service & Project Management – You’ll continue to receive the same white-glove service, clear timelines, and responsive support you’ve come to expect from our team.

Creative Solutions – If your budget is tight, let’s talk. We can explore adjustments to size, packaging, or quantities to help you get the most from your investment.

Looking Ahead
I will continue to monitor the tariff situation closely and advocate for cost-efficient solutions that allow us to serve you better. Should the government reverse or ease these tariffs, we will comply and only pass along the fees as mandated.

We deeply value your partnership, and we’re committed to delivering not only premium plush toys but also the transparency and trust that long-term business relationships are built on.

If you have any questions, concerns, or upcoming projects you’d like to discuss, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to support you every step of the way.
