Why have I taken the time to put this report together?
The reason is because I am tired of the phone calls!
I remember it like it was yesterday. It was October of 2002 and Mary Reynolds, a good business friend of mine had called me in tears. She was a good corporate customer of mine who didn't think twice about ordering large orders of 50,000 to 100,000 custom toys from my company. The company she worked for ran 40 tradeshows every year and gave out thousands of toys at every show. Mary was a Mother of two and had a stuffed toy idea of her own that she was sure would sell. Mary had spent her adult life, going from
her parents house, to college, to her marriage, to having two kids in a blink of an eye. It happened so fast. But now things in her life were ‘settling down’ and it was her time to shine. She was looking to invent her own stuffed toy and she wanted to sell lots of them on her own. You can appreciate that right?
Trying To Save A Buck
A year before this phone call, when she was crying on the phone with me, she was asking if I would help her work on her toy. I gave her my best advice that I had and corrected a few assumptions that she was making. Mary asked me if I would be offended if she used someone else with a lower price. An alarm went off in my head but I wanted to make sure I was fair with her since the corporation she worked for was such a great customer. So a year had past since she first started and I was now on the phone with her and she was in tears. Since it was October, it was too late to do anything about getting her new toys for Christmas. The biggest shopping day of the years (Black Friday) was weeks away and even with all of my skill, connections and production capabilities I wouldn't be able to save the day. Mary told me how she had placed her order, gave her deposit (thousands of dollars) and she could not track down her supplier now.
Mary’s Own Money
She was a smart woman. She tried her best to work through another small supplier who promised a quick delivery time and cheaper
prices. At her big corporate job she didn't think twice about spending six figures on our custom toys, but this was different. This was her own money now and her family depended on her. That is the day I decided to make a difference! I decided that I wouldn't allow another individual to get sucked in by other companies over promising and under delivering. I had made great
money from working with the big companies but I now saw a need for my expertise. Mary had been so excited and passionate about
her toy idea that she was ripe to be 'sucked in'. Mary was so frustrated, upset and had lost a lot of her family's money. She had been told incorrect information and had been made false promises. Her excitement and creativity had been used against her. But it doesn't have to be that way!
Sad Phone Calls and People Getting Ripped Off
You see, I was running my company happily, but still getting the same phone calls from people getting Rippped Off! If you think it can’t happen to you, listen carefully. These are smart people. An example is one woman from Florida who had sent money to an 'agency' promising to market her stuffed toy idea. Each step they let her know there was ‘great interest’ in her toy idea. And each step they asked for more money to pursue her toy idea further. I’m talking about thousands of dollars. Wouldn’t you be excited to if someone told you that your dream of creating your own custom toy would sell! Those people are left with one piece of paper with a bad sketch and a 2 or 3 sentence description. I really hate talking about all of those phone calls because I feel I could have done more to help. And then that changed...
How It All Began
You see, I was in the same boat as you are. I didn’t know much about the toy industry when I started my website CustomPlushToys.com. I did years of research, made a ton of mistakes and sadly….yes I got ripped off a few times too! You can benefit from my mistakes. You see it’s scary out there. There isn’t any local stuffed toy factories that you can visit.
There isn’t a stuffed toy inventor association that you can rely on. You’re basically on your own. You need to find a reliable expert who can help you with your toy idea, from start to finish.
So please take the time to look through the Free Report and listen to the CD.
Thanks.
